Synergist fitness is a member of the Medical Fitness Association and our staff members hold at a minimum a B.S. in Exercise Science and a personal trainer certification from either ACSM or NASM. Many staff members have additional certifications and education that deals with special populations and disease specific training, including personal training for clients with diabetes, CV disease, MS, and obesity. Medical oversight is provided by Dr. Jackie Williamson who is available to members during most days of the week.
Every member at Synergist Fitness will receive a full physical assessment which includes: Body composition, Flexibility, Muscular Strength, Cardiovascular endurance, and Muscle & Posture Conformity. We will tailor this assessment to ensure that it is safe for any new exerciser. After the initial assessment we will provide the new client with a complete fitness program as well as a detailed workout log which includes pictures of the exercises to be performed. Staff is always available to show clients how to use equipment and to monitor individuals less comfortable with a new exercise. We also offer stress management programs, metabolic testing, biofeedback training, aerobic classes, and massage services.
Our gym is wheelchair accessible and we have all the equipment necessary to train individuals with physical disabilities. We have four raised exercise stations which allow clients to perform floor exercises without having to get on the floor, this makes exercising much more enjoyable and safer for many of our clients. Other special equipment includes an orthopedic supported treadmill, seated stepper machine, seated arm bicycle, and private exercise areas. Massage chair and stress management software is also available for members to use.
